Sharing options

How to share your Mont projects and exports

After creating your video in Mont, you have several options for sharing it.

Exporting to file

The primary way to share is by exporting your project as an MP4 file:

  1. Click the Export button
  2. Choose a save location
  3. Wait for export to complete
  4. Share the MP4 file however you like

See Export formats for technical details.

Sharing the exported file

Once exported, your MP4 file is a standard video that can be shared through:

Video platforms

  • YouTube – Upload directly
  • Vimeo – Upload for embedding
  • Social media – Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook all accept MP4

File sharing

  • Cloud storage – Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive
  • Email – Attach smaller videos directly
  • Messaging – Slack, Teams, Discord

Embedding

  • Websites – Upload to a platform and embed the player
  • Presentations – Insert video into PowerPoint, Google Slides
  • Documentation – Embed in Notion, Confluence, etc.

Project collaboration

Mont projects are saved to the cloud. To collaborate:

  1. Share the project URL with team members
  2. They can view and edit if they have access

Note: Team collaboration features may vary based on your account type.

Best practices

Before sharing

  • Preview your export – Watch the full video to catch issues
  • Check file size – Large videos may be slow to upload
  • Verify audio – Ensure narration is clear and levels are good

Platform-specific tips

YouTube:

  • Add title, description, and tags for discoverability
  • Choose appropriate visibility (public, unlisted, private)
  • Enable chapters by adding timestamps in description

Social media:

  • Keep videos short for better engagement
  • Add captions for accessibility
  • Consider platform-specific aspect ratios

Professional use:

  • Use cloud storage for large files
  • Create shareable links rather than email attachments
  • Consider password protection for sensitive content

File size considerations

Duration Approximate size
1 minute ~40 MB
5 minutes ~200 MB
10 minutes ~400 MB

For very large videos:

  • Use cloud storage with shareable links
  • Consider breaking into multiple parts
  • Allow extra upload time
