Importing content

How to import media and content into Mont

Mont allows you to import images, videos, and audio to use in your projects.

Importing images

Drag and drop

  1. Open your project in Mont
  2. Drag image files from your computer onto the scene
  3. Images are added as scene objects

Upload button

  1. Click the upload button in the sidebar
  2. Select image files
  3. Images appear in your media library and can be added to scenes

Supported formats

  • PNG (.png) – Best for screenshots, graphics with transparency
  • JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) – Best for photographs
  • WebP (.webp) – Modern format, good compression
  • GIF (.gif) – Animated images
  • SVG (.svg) – Vector graphics

Importing video

  1. Use the upload button or drag and drop
  2. Video files are processed for browser playback
  3. Add videos to your timeline or as scene objects

Supported formats

  • MP4 (.mp4) – Most common, H.264 codec
  • WebM (.webm) – Web-optimized format
  • MOV (.mov) – QuickTime format

Large videos may take time to process after import.

Importing audio

  1. Upload audio files through the sidebar
  2. Add to your timeline as audio tracks

Supported formats

  • MP3 (.mp3)
  • WAV (.wav)
  • M4A (.m4a)
  • WebM audio (.webm)

Using imported media

In scenes

  1. Open your media library
  2. Click an image to add it to the current scene
  3. Position and resize as needed

On the timeline

  1. Drag video or audio from the library to the timeline
  2. Position on the appropriate track
  3. Trim and adjust timing

Tips

  • Optimize before import: Compress large images to speed up import and reduce storage
  • Match resolution: Import images at or above your export resolution (1920×1080) for best quality
  • Organize as you go: Import related media together and add it to your project systematically

Limitations

  • No PowerPoint import: Mont doesn't import .pptx files directly. Export slides as images from PowerPoint and import those.
  • No PDF import: Convert PDF pages to images first.
  • File size: Very large files may be slow to import or cause memory issues.
