Quality settings
Recording quality presets and specifications in Mont
Mont records at high quality by default, optimized for crisp screen content and clear audio.
Recording quality
Mont uses the Ultra quality preset for all recordings:
Screen recording
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Resolution | Up to 4K (3840×2160) |
| Frame rate | 60 fps |
| Video bitrate | 25 Mbps |
| Audio bitrate | 256 kbps |
| Sample rate | 48 kHz stereo |
Screen recordings capture your display at its native resolution, up to 4K. The high bitrate preserves text clarity and UI details.
Camera recording
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Resolution | Up to 4K (3840×2160) |
| Frame rate | 60 fps |
| Video bitrate | 15 Mbps |
| Audio bitrate | 256 kbps |
| Sample rate | 48 kHz stereo |
Camera recordings use a lower bitrate than screen recordings because facial video compresses more efficiently than screen content with sharp text.
Audio-only recording
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Audio bitrate | 320 kbps |
| Sample rate | 48 kHz stereo |
Audio-only recordings use the highest audio bitrate for maximum voice clarity.
Audio processing
All recordings include automatic audio processing:
- Echo cancellation – Removes feedback from speakers
- Noise suppression – Reduces background noise
- Auto gain control – Maintains consistent volume levels
These features are always enabled to ensure clean audio without manual adjustment.
Export quality
Regardless of recording quality, all exports are rendered at 1080p @ 30fps with 5 Mbps video bitrate. See Export formats for details.
Higher-resolution recordings give you flexibility to crop and reposition footage in the editor without losing quality.
